Great North Run 2007

Earlier this year 3 members of the Evertech team, Graham Denney Tom Richardson and Paul Leighton, applied and successfully gained entry into the Great North Run. The lads started their training in April with some small 1 and 2 mile runs and soon got into the swing of things with the mileage building up quite quickly. Unfortunately in those early weeks Paul went down with an injury to his knee which sadly would lead to him having to withdraw from the event. Not to be deterred Tom and Graham pushed on with the training and soon one of Tom’s friends had joined to push the team up to 3 again.

They decided as they were doing this that they would raise some money for a charity and, due to Graham’s wife already being a fundraiser, they chose the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MND).

As the summer months passed all three were really starting to rack up the miles with around 20 miles being run by each of them every week. Towards the end of summer another injury hit with Graham getting tendonitus in his achilles. Fortunately with the aid of some strapping and a few pain killers he was still able to continue although at a reduced pace.

September 30th 2007 finally came and all 3 of them, on a warm sunny Newcastle day, completed the 13.1 miles from Newcastle city centre to South Sheilds on the coast. It was tough going but they had made it and in the process had raised a superb £775 pounds for the MND Association. All 3 of them had really enjoyed the experience and have vowed, along with Paul, to run again in 2008.

Evertech Sponsor Young Football Stars

Evertech Solutions Ltd, today became the proud new shirt sponsors for Nelson FC Under 16’s. The shirts, pictured on the right, are brand new for this season and are to be used as Nelson’s second strip. The club gained promotion as champions last season from the Accrington & District Junior League 2nd division and hopefully they will follow on this success this season by establishing themselves in the first division.

Evertech – On The Run

On September 30th 2007, three members of the Evertech Solutions team will be attempting to run 13.2 miles around Newcastle in the Great North Run.

Having now been confirmed as successful entrants, they will soon begin a rigorous training schedule. The lads will also be raising money for the MND Association to help fund research into finding a cure for this awful debilitating illness

Evertech Welcomes Chairman Of Lancashire County Council

During December Evertech Solutions welcomed Terry Burns, the Chairman of Lancashire County Council, to our new premises at the Lancashire Digital Technology Centre.

He was here to see the excellent facilities that he and his council had helped to fund and also to meet with us to see how we were developing as a new company.

The visit was a great success and Councillor Burns was heartened by the early success of ourselves and the other companies residing at the centre.
